I found this beautiful mare
and her filly in 2003 – as I rounded a bend in the dirt road
there they were with a stout little bay band stallion. They
were real nervous about seeing me– so I stayed back and quietly
observed the band. As they started to move off it was as if the
mare and her filly were posing for me. I remember as I was
shooting this picture thinking “oh boy this THE shot!” I have
seen them since 2003 a few times. In fact one time as I hiked
out by them the stud looked at me and whinnied as if to say, “Hi
– I remember you”. They still look great and in 2006 the mare
had cream buckskin foal by her side.
